Paperless shipments without accompanying documents: digital all the way to your destination.
With the various components of electronic data transmission (eAWB, eHM, eCSD, eDGD), a wide range of shipment types can already be transported completely paperless – using eAWB with EAW.
How to ship without any paper documents
1. Mark the shipment as EAW when booking.
2. Transmit all shipment data electronically as eAWB.
3. Deliver the shipment to the local Lufthansa Cargo station without any paper documents.
For General Cargo shipments, accompanying paper documents are usually not required from a regulatory or transport technology perspective. Using EAW for General Cargo reduces manual effort for all parties involved in the transport chain.
Important update
As of 26 OCT 25, Lufthansa Cargo charges a Document Pouch Fee (BP) for General Cargo shipments with accompanying paper documents (EAP shipments): 12 EUR/12 USD or the equivalent in local currency. The fee applies to all paperless destinations
