Change in Lufthansa Cargo process
The Iranian authorities (Islamic republic of Iran Civil Aviation Authority) started the mandatory requirements for collecting Consignor/Consignee National ID numbers, Postal Codes, and Harmonized System (HS) Codes for air cargo shipments. As per the legal obligations requested details to be provided by air carrier on master AWB level.
With immediate effect please ensure that for any shipment with Destination as Iran following mandatory data are transmitted in the FWB (XFWB) message prior to cargo acceptance (this applies for consol (master AWB) as well as non consol (single AWB)):
HS Code: 8 digits
The correct information must be provided in the NH line of the FWB/XFWB
Consignee Postal Code: 10 digits
(IATA FWB format only allows 9 digits postal code in the CNE field, this information needs to be provided in OCI lines) as follows:
- ISO Country Code: IR
- Information ID: CNE
- Customs Information ID: T
- Supplementary Customs Info: PC XXXXXXXXXX (PC<space>10 digits postal code)

National Identification number: NID/FIDA/Passport Number
National ID (NID tag following 10 digits NID or 11 digits legal ID) to be provided in OCI line as follows:
- ISO Country Code: IR
- Information ID: CNE
- Customs Information ID: T
- Supplementary Customs Info: NID XXXXXXXXXX (NID<space>10 digits NID or 11 digits legal ID)

Special Notes for DIP Shipments:
- Use FIDA code or passport number instead of NID.
- All legal (governmental & non-governmental) and non-legal entities (individuals) possess a National ID.
- For foreigners, a passport number should be used.
- For foreign companies, the FIDA Code is applicable
The additional data elements specified are not applicable to house waybills (paper HAWB nor electronic messages FHL/XFZB).
- Increased waiting times in the export acceptance process
- No acceptance of shipments
- No import clearance possible
